Evertz Group: A strong commitment to the location

The company has become increasingly international in recent years, further diversified, and broadened its footprint. However, the base of the internationally active Evertz Group remains Solingen.

Solinger-Tageblatt "Wirtschaftsraum Solingen"

There's no standstill. The Solingen-based Evertz Group is constantly evolving. Just as pioneer Egon Evertz has demonstrated since founding his company in 1956. At 88 years old, the company founder still visits the company headquarters from time to time. It's no longer located at Birkenweiher, but in Ohligs. Jil Evertz is now a management member there, at Prinzenstraße 20. With the new headquarters of the Evertz Group, the 30-year-old was able to make a wonderful contribution to her first major project – and, as the developer, also make the traditional Solingen company structurally fit for the future. The administration building for 30 employees at the Solingen location is bright, modern, and energy-efficient. Photovoltaics, insulated facades, and other construction measures ensure low energy consumption (KfW 55). The new home is intended to be both ecological and create an ideal working environment. This lives up to the company's sustainability commitment – and helps attract skilled workers. The Evertz Group achieves these goals on three floors with floor-to-ceiling windows, open-plan offices, modern conference rooms, and a mix of industrial culture and art. Jil Evertz is Head of Human Resources and co-owner. The third generation of the family is ready to take over at Evertz. The new, prestigious building on the company premises on Prinzenstraße is a clearly visible symbol. Her father, Ralf Evertz, Christine Hentschel, and Thomas Benner, are at the helm. The managing directors have invested in the future in recent years. Visible, for example, with the new administration building on Prinzenstraße. The company has been present there since 1998 with production facilities and a central warehouse. The property covers more than 20,000 square meters. A total of 70 employees are employed in Solingen. In addition, the Solingen Group has also opened up new markets. Evertz Europe SA, headquartered in Luxembourg and founded in 2006, primarily handles service contracts for the European and US business. Major customers in the steel industry value their expertise. "I'm only satisfied when my customer is satisfied!" Founder's motto And Evertz Hydrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Betzdorf, headquartered in Betzdorf, under the management of Thomas Rosenbauer and Matthias Schuss, represents the new business areas the company has developed. Valves and measurement systems, among other things, are produced in Rhineland-Palatinate. Furthermore, the company has gradually become less dependent on the vagaries of the global market. Disrupted supply chains, along with energy prices, environmental challenges, and personnel requirements, have been among the biggest challenges in recent years. One of the core competencies is steel surface finishing. For this purpose, the German sites use almost 400 grinding wheels per month. The wheel weighs approximately 60 kilograms. There are 20 locations worldwide with more than 500 employees. The grinding stones are now produced in Ohligs and then delivered to all properties. This makes the company a bit more independent again and strengthens its own brand essence. In the steel sector, Evertz is a valued partner of major producers. "We are an all-rounder in steel services and offer major customers the complete package," says Jil Evertz. Services account for 70 percent of its business. In addition, the Evertz Group manufactures a further 30 percent of its own machinery and equipment, such as grinding systems, flame cutting systems, scarfing machines, and lifting magnets. The group has become increasingly broader in its positioning. The company remains innovative, holds numerous patents, is active in international markets, and thus strengthens its position as a medium-sized company in heavy industry. Evertz maintains its strong foothold in Solingen, where Egon Evertz began his success story as a 19-year-old. The busy founder remains omnipresent in the new administration building, even when he isn't visiting his company. Certificates hang on the walls, his Formula 1 engine, a two-stroke, sits in a meeting room, and the color orange is a natural feature of the building. And then there's the founder's motto, inscribed on the wall of a meeting room: "I'm only satisfied when my customer is satisfied!" The Evertz Group still lives by this philosophy today. Now in its third generation.
